    Duncan Tonatiuh (toh-nah-tyou) is the author and illustrator of four picture books: Dear Primo: A Letter to My Cousin, Diego Rivera: His World and Ours, Pancho Rabbit and the Coyote: A Migrant’s Tale and Separate Is Never Equal: Sylvia Mendez and Her Family’s Fight for Desegragation. He was born in Mexico City and grew up in San Miguel de Allende. He graduated from Parsons The New School for Design and from Eugene Lang College in New York City in 2008. Mexican-American author and illustrator Duncan Tonatiuh was influenced by ancient Mexican art, but he uses modern technology innovatively to “color” in his drawings.
