More recent deals with Paramount and Lionsgate have also brought new content to IMDb TV, like Silver Linings Playbook, Age of Adaline, In the Heart of the Sea and the TV show, The Middle. This brought movies like Captain Fantastic and La La Land to the service, the latter which has since become one of the service’s most-streamed movies this summer. IMDb TV, the free ad-supported streaming service launched by Amazon-owned IMDb at the beginning of the year (originally called Freedive), is today arriving on mobile devices.

The move comes a year after IMDb TV’s January 2019 launch (as Freedive). IMDb is the world's most popular and authoritative source for movie, TV and celebrity content. Amazon Studios’ Ryan Pirozzi and Lauren Anderson have been named IMDb TV co-heads of content.

IMDb TV is expected to contribute to that, with its placement on the “Your Apps & Channels” row on Fire TV and its availability as a free channel within the Prime Video app. Meanwhile, Amazon Studios-based creators and showrunners will have the opportunity to supply two Amazon platforms, the subscription-based Prime Video as well as the free, ad-supported IMDb TV.
