I found this page after searching "shockwave part 2 lame" because I wanted to see if anyone else felt the way I did about it. I liked Archer's and T'Pol's speechmaking to Ambassador Sovral (even if these speeches were a bit hammy and pat) arguing that the crew should have a chance to learn from their early mistakes. Gah.

After becoming concerned that it looks like the monument to a federation was never even built, Daniels and Archer make their way to a library. The season continued the Temporal Cold War story-arc with the opening episode "Shockwave" (part two), and the producers sought to include further appearances by the Andorians and the Vulcans. Silly episode. While stuck in the decimated remains of the 31st century, Archer and Daniels work to find a way to get back to Enterprise; and Daniels worries that the future existence of The Federation may be in jeopardy as a result of his impulsive … Archer and Daniels trapse through the Future Ruins as the Captain becomes increasingly frustrated with the time traveler’s inability or refusal to clarify much about what’s going on. From The Virgin Suicides and Lost in Translation to On the Rocks, IMDb dives into the cinematic stylings of Academy Award-winning writer and director, Sofia Coppola. It becomes obvious early on as Archer asks Daniels questions about timeline manipulation and Daniels brushes him off with, "It's impossible for you to understand."

Rick Berman, To be fair, I didn’t watch this whole episode but more on that in a moment. For example, the penultimate episode of last season, on Risa, got 3 stars, while this got 2. I thought this was pretty good - certainly better than the 2-star episodes from season 1. (The explosion in the atmosphere of the Paraagan mining colony.) i liked that one moment in the library, where Archer and Daniels are looking amongst the books and Archer is going to pik up the book, "The Romulan Star Empire... What's that?"

I wanted to come here and post "at least we finally have an admiral who isn't a) 200 years old and b) always has the captain's back" as I have been pretty impressed with how easy-going and understanding Admiral Forrest has been with Archer this past year, stolidly in his corner as he is, but the ending to Shockwave II had Forrest in the traditional not-my-problem, you've-broken-too-many-rules Admiral role. Your email address will not be published. I said in my comment above that the only misstep was Hoshi losing her shirt. Daniels' whereabouts by the end of the story are left completely open-ended, no doubt to leave him available for future storylines involving the temporal cold war. Where is Archer? How brilliant he must be to engineer such a charade so quickly, apparently by pushing a few buttons. Shockwave, Part I Eager to visit the deep-space colony of a race called the Paraagans , Captain Archer leads an away team toward the surface of an alien planet. Both clothing fiascos took me out of the story. Brannon Braga. Part 2 always cheats part 1. TUCKER: I can't … Welcome to Season Two of Star Trek Enterprise, guys!

4-12: Crossfire. Subcommander T'Pol: The writers undoubtedly have no idea how to address such a troubling and significant question, despite the fact they've seen fit to drop the Enterprise into the middle of a timeline war. Daniel realizes that the future has changed with the absence to Archer, and together they go to the library to research how the time line was damaged. The reset button was really heavy on this one. In the Suliban Have Taken Over the Ship thread, the crew members are locked down in their quarters while Silik tries to figure out what to do now that Captain Archer has gone missing. I came back later on but the damage was already done. He tells Starfleet that since it’s obvious that Captain Archer has gone rogue and must be holding T’Pol against her will, he has no option but to send a Vulcan ship to get her back.

After swinging by Phlox’s quarters to pick up some hypos, Hoshi shows up at Reed’s quarters topless after a “comedic” series of incidents. Add to that the Suliban's enhanced hearing and the possibility of her being discovered is quite high. Archer’s Theme – Dennis McCarthy and New York Trek Orchestra. Enterprise 02×01 – Shockwave Part 2 Directed by Allan Kroeker Written by Rick Berman & Brannon Braga Guest Stars: John Fleck, Matt Winston, Vaughn Armstrong, Gary Graham, Keith Allan, Jim Fitzpatrick. These are moments, however, in stark contrast to a cartoon show that would rather pander to us with cookie-cutter action instead of thinking its way out of its dilemma with something original. Directed by Allan Kroeker Why would they just leave peacefully? Time travel accomplished with an old communicator and some copper is a step too far for my suspension of disbelief. Trip found a workaround that allows him to use comms, and he reaches Reed and tells him to sit tight until he can get the rest of the crew on the line. Why not have a password built in so only authorized personnel can operate it? Post . Your email address will not be published.

Written by Rick Berman & Brannon Braga Bloody Romans... no sense of imagination. Disco Night – A Star Trek Discovery Podcast. Near the end we have the Enterprise under attack by a dozen Suliban attack pods, and the pyrotechnics are engineered just like a Voyager battle scene, with phasers firing like crazy and consoles on the bridge exploding. For sure it did not reach the high points of part one, and aspects of the plotting were fairly risible. Faith of the Heart/Where My Heart Will Take Me – Written by Diane Warren, performed by Russell Watson, Jerry Lubbock, and the New York Trek Orchestra Watch … What's funny is that in a subtle way I was fooled by the charade: I almost expected the ship to actually blow up, so it could later be reset by manipulations in the timeline from Archer's end of the plot. Star Trek: Enterprise "Shockwave, Part II" Air date: 9/18/2002 Written by Rick Berman & Brannon Braga Directed by Allan Kroeker.
